Dr Carlisle George, an invited speaker at TELFOR 2007, Serbia

Dr Carlisle George, Senior Lecturer in the School of Computing Science and a Barrister of Lincoln's Inn was invited by the Telecommunications Society of Serbia to speak at the 15th Telecommunications Forum, TELFOR 2007 in Belgrade, Serbia.

Dr George, spoke on the legal challenges regarding the convergence of telecommunications, broadcasting and information technology, especially in light of the November 2007 EU proposals for Telecoms reform. Dr George was also a speaker (and panel member) at a cybercrime workshop organised in collaboration with the Faculty of Organisational Sciences, University of Belgrade. Other workshop speakers included Ms. Lidija Komnen Nikolic (Prosecutor for high-tech crime); Judge Veljko Lazovic, (chairman of the Special unit for high-tech crime); Prof. Dr Mirjana Drakulic and Mr Ratimir Drakulic (of the faculty of Organisational Sciences); Mr. Nikola Mancic (researcher in phishing); and Mr. Dejan Vuletic (researcher in cyber forensics).
