Transformational analogy takes a solution to a previous problem and transforms the solution so that the solution can be applied to the current problem.
For example object x was shipped from London to Istanbul, and a new object needs to travel from Istanbul to London. Using transformational analogy with original solution, the new object would be send by ship.
Transformational analogy forms the basis for the case based reasoning approach.
