My research interests lie where Information Systems meet Human Computer Interaction. I am really motivated towards investigating human aspects of information systems development (e.g. communities of practice), effects of computer supported cooperative work in software engineering (e.g. distributed team working), computer mediated communication (e.g. distance and e-learning) and Information and Communication Technologies (e.g. Internet computing and e-commerce). Some topics of interest include:

  • Human issues in software engineering, focusing on their effects in software development
  • Distributed team working as in virtual teams and collaboration across networks (Groupware)
  • The effects of group work in the engineering of Information Systems
  • Online communities of practice
  • e-Business effects on society (e.g. e-portals, electronic employment contracts, privacy and security)
  • Developement and evaluation of conceptual models and frameworks of e-Commerce
  • Computer-mediated communication in e-Learning
  • Computer Supported Cooperative Learning focusing on computer-assisted assessment
  • Maturity models for e-Government readines

All men by nature desire knowledge.
Philosophy is the science which considers truth.
Plausible impossibilities should be preferred to unconvincing possibilities.
