Rapid
growth in communication technology
means that learning can become
a global activity. The Global
Campus at the School
of Computing Science combines
local support and tutors with
CD Rom-based materials and the
Internet to enable students and
lecturers to work together across
the world.
My
role in the Global Campus project
primarily involved authoring and
reviewing of units for a variety
of modules that were part of the
programmes taught remotely to
the Learning Support Centres.
Such modules include:
- BIS1000 - Information
Technology in Organisations
- BIS1501 - Introduction
to e-Business Applications
- BIS3031 - Methodologies
and Tools for the Engineering
of Information Systems
- BIS3051 - Commercial
Web Development
- CMT4130 - Design
& Evaluation of Interactive
Computer Systems
Further
to my author/reviewer duties,
responsibilities included research
into Human Computer Interaction
and accessibility aspects of Virtual
Learning Environments and Investigation
of Global Campus students' learning
behaviour leading to further development
of the SCATE pedagogical model.
