TITLE: The Robot Scientist  Closed loop learning meets laboratory automation

ABSTRACT:
 
Aberystwyth University's Robot Scientist, can design, cary out and reason about experiments in yeast genomics. I has successfully, and autonomously, discovered new knowledge about the function of yeast genes.  The robot combines artificial intelligence, domain specific knowledge and  automated `wet' experiments.  In this talk I will give a high level overview of the robot scientist. I will also give some details of my research on the project:  an evolutionary computation approach to multi-objective experiment optimization.
