TITLE: Nature-Inspired Algorithms: Promise and Prejudice

ABSTRACT

Nature-inspired metaheuristic algorithms such as 
particle swarm optimization and firefly algorithm
have become very popular in optimization and computational
intelligence in recent years. However, confusion, 
distraction and prejudice in the literature may have 
caused some resistance. We will discuss the advantages 
and disadvantages of metaheuristic algorithms by analyzing
some algorithms. We will also discuss open problems
and further research topics.
