TITLE: Deep learning based approach for medical image classifications SPEAKER: Xiaohong Gao (Middlesex University) ABSTRACT: After the success of Google Alpha Go, deep learning (DL) has become very wellknown and dominated the field of computer vision and image processing. While DL has achieved state of the art results in many domains, it still faces challenges in the medical realm. In this talk, I will discuss our recently work [1,2] on the application of DL to medical images. Specifically, the focus will be on the design of fused convolutional neural network architecture to overcome the shortage of datasets (in millions in the other domains) and to incorporate medical knowledge. 1.
