TITLE: Data mining at Middlesex SPEAKER: All participants ABSTRACT: Many people working at Middlesex are involved in Machine Learning projects. However, these people do not collaborate very often. (For the purposes of this discussion, Machine Learning is a substitute for Big Data, Machine Learning, and Data Mining.) There is some interest in starting a working group on Machine Learning to foster this collaboration. This meeting will be a first meeting, in hopefully a long and productive series, on the topic. The discussion is entirely open, but here are a few possible topics for the meeting: Expertise: Who does what. Teaching: Existing and proposed degrees in Data Science and Machine Learning. Data: it would be good to have data sets that we all used, so that we could take advantage of expertise. Industrial Collaboration: Grants and Papers: Everyone is invited to the meeting, and to join the group
