Elke Duncker

Elke has taught in universities in the Netherlands and Germany. Her research interests are divided between two overlapping fields.

1) Heterogeneous communication and co-operation. The dynamics of R&D across disciplinary, professional, organisational and cultural boundaries. This includes my work at the University of Twente and the case study of American Medical Informatics.

2) Social aspects of computing. This includes computer mediated heterogeneous communication and cooperation, social cultural and gender dynamics of global information and communication systems, and social and cultural scripts of software- and systems design. Research in this area is carried out in the context of the research group Computer and Society at Middlesex University.
