MSc Managing Major Projects and Programmes

If you are actively managing projects or programmes and wish to develop your professional value, then this innovative new course is for you.

Aims and Objectives
The MSc Managing Major Projects and Programmes addresses the increasing need for highly capable project and programme managers who will become the leading project professionals in their organisations. The aim of the MSc is that its graduates will be qualified to manage the most complex programmes, skilled enough to run cross-discipline business and technical projects and become experts in the politics and processes of the project and programme community. The MSc concentrates on areas of projects and programmes that need excellent management to ensure success, and is a highly application-focused course that returns immediate value to the professional environments of its students.

The course, designed by the National Centre for Project Management at Middlesex University and CITI (APM Accredited Training Provider), is suitable for experienced programme and project managers working in any industry.

Structure
The course is structured as a set of seven modules which require you to attend some taught units, during which current practices, and a project or programme you are managing, are analysed. The taught units are supported by distance learning materials which allow you to extend your understanding of key areas. High-impact workshops, lectures and syndicate exercises are used to provide access to, and input from, tutors who are practising programme and project managers with a passion for teaching.

You will study the following modules:

• Advanced Project Management
• Complex Factors in Project Management
• Organisational Problem Solving
• The Value Proposition
• Extracting Value
• Research Methods in the Workplace
• Dissertation

Emphasis is placed on topics that are critical to the success of major projects and programmes.
